Winter can be a difficult time of year to commit to fitness goals. It is very cold here in Michigan and the roads and sidewalks can be very slippery.

But it’s nice to know there are options indoors that can help you not only reach your goals, but keep you fit, active and fighting the winter blues all at the same time.

At Ann Arbor Fitness Bootcamp, they offer a program called Weight Loss Essentials (WLE). This is an all-around program that balances your weight, nutrition and lifestyle and monitors all three as you progress through the program.

They first take a thorough physical assessment to determine what exercises you can and cannot do. The goal of the assessment is to decide if WLE is a good fit for you, or if semi-private training would be a better way to start. Based on your intake forms, they will set up a nutrition and lifestyle plan that you will be developing through the course of the program.

WLE is specifically designed for weight loss and to improve body composition. There will be ups and downs with any workout, but if you are finding that you are having more aches and pains than normal, it might be a good idea to go to a semi-private option for a while and perhaps a Physical Therapist for anything specific.

WLE is not for everyone. There are bouts of high intensity workouts followed by short periods of rest. This can cause fatigue, which could lead to injury if your body does not move well to begin with. If this is the case for you, a semi-private trainer is a better option because they can help you with range of motion and making sure that your body is properly aligned when doing the exercises.
